Host a Gathering, Change a Life: A Guide for Our Supporters

At the Juving Development Society, we believe that community is the most powerful tool for change. While our annual Garden Party funds the core operations of the school in Juving-6—sponsoring education and building community—we invite you to bring the spirit of Juving to your next event.

Whether you are hosting a festive holiday dinner, a summer backyard BBQ, or a milestone birthday, you can turn your celebration into a "Gift of Opportunity" for students in the Himalayas.

How Your Event Makes a Difference

In the high-altitude region of Juving Ward 6 classrooms, the mountain weather is unpredictable and access to supplies is a challenge. Your fundraiser can provide the tangible essentials that keep kids in school in their community:

  • The "Warmth" Kit: A $50 donation provides one student with a high-quality, insulated tracksuit and a sturdy, waterproof backpack to keep their supplies dry.

  • The "Summer' Kit: A $15 donation provides one student with a water bottle and school supplies in preparation for the fall.

Three Simple Ways to Fundraise at Your Event

1. The "In Honour" Gift

Instead of traditional party favors or host gifts, suggest that guests make a donation in honour of the occasion.

  • The Perk: For every $50 donation, we can provide a personalized certificate and a beautiful card to present to your guest or loved one, acknowledging the student they’ve supported in Nepal.

2. The "Entry for Impact"

If you’re hosting a larger gathering, consider a suggested donation at the door.

  • The Impact: "Tonight, your entry fee of $50 doesn’t just cover your drink—it outfits a student in Juving for the entire school year."

3. A "Mountain-Themed" Moment

Incorporate a small nod to Nepal into your event to spark conversation.

  • The Idea: Serve a traditional Himalayan tea or a spiced snack, and share a few photos of the students in rural Juving.
