About the Board

Juving Development Society Board and Strategy

Board of Directors

The Board is comprised of the following positions:

  • President

  • Secretary

  • Treasurer

  • Directors at Large (7)

Our Purpose

We enhance the quality of life in Juving by funding projects that focus on improving education and community development opportunities, chosen by the village community.

Our Values

  • Uphold the voice and agency of the people of Juving

  • Honour the donors and the spirit in which money is given

Our Guiding Principle: Sustainability

This means that in everything we do, we prioritize actions and decisions that ensure long-term positive outcomes for both the communities we serve and the administrative Board of the Society. Sustainability guides our priorities, shaping our investments and partnerships to create lasting impact for future generations. This is why we decided to focus on one small region and not all of Nepal. We felt that by deliberately limiting our geographical focus we could maximize our impact and outcome.

Our Mandate

The mandate of the Society is to improve the standard of living in the village of Juving by providing funding to advance projects related to improving access to education and community development as selected by the village.

The village of Juving will convey its priority projects in proposals to the Society by the Agent. The Board will determine allocation of its funds based on the following funding priorities of the Society:

  • Purchase of educational supplies for students and teachers, computer equipment and other school supplies.

  • Provision of school operating funds including teachers’ salaries not covered by the government

  • Disbursement of scholarships for individual students

  • Construction of school buildings and/or related facilities

  • Development of other projects identified by the village of Juving and communicated to the Board by the Agent for approval on behalf of the Society.
